Digital Advocacy Workshop

A practical Summer School session exploring how digital media can support public-interest storytelling, community voice, and purposeful advocacy.

The workshop brings strategy and creative practice together: shaping a clear message, understanding audiences, working ethically with images and stories, and choosing digital formats that invite attention and participation.

Digital Advocacy Workshop — Summer School

At The Dollie House, facilitation is a practice of creating conditions for connection, curiosity, and collective exploration.

We design and host workshops, gatherings, and participatory experiences that use creative practice as a tool for reflection, dialogue, research, and transformation. Our sessions are guided by the belief that knowledge is not only produced through formal structures, but also through lived experience, conversation, imagination, and shared making.

Drawing from visual anthropology, creative research, and participatory methodologies, our workshops explore the relationship between storytelling, identity, place, memory, and belonging.

We create spaces where participants are invited to observe, question, create, and contribute - moving beyond the role of audience or subject into active participation within the process.

Visual Storytelling & Documentary Practice

Exploring photography, film, image-making, and observation as tools for understanding ourselves, our communities, and the worlds around us.

Participatory Research & Creative Inquiry

Using collaborative methods to investigate ideas, experiences, and shared questions through dialogue, making, and reflection.

Community Storytelling & Memory Work

Creating spaces for oral histories, personal narratives, cultural knowledge, and collective archives to emerge.

Climate, Ecology & Place-Based Practice

Engaging with environmental questions through creative processes that explore our relationships with landscapes, resources, and more-than-human worlds.

Creative Reflection & Collective Imagination

Using writing, drawing, discussion, movement, and other creative practices as ways of processing, imagining, and building new possibilities.

Our workshops are designed to support different groups and contexts - from artists and cultural practitioners to communities, organisations, educators, and interdisciplinary teams.

We believe gathering itself can be a methodology: a way of slowing down, listening deeply, exchanging knowledge, and creating together.

Facilitation becomes a space where ideas are not simply delivered, but cultivated.
